Questions
Does it understand Hindi and Hinglish?
Yes. It reads English, Hindi in Devanagari, and Hinglish written in Roman letters: kal, parso, 10 tarikh, shaam 6 baje, saade 7, ravivar, jama karo, pakka, theek hai and many more. Devanagari numbers work too.
Is my chat uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens inside your browser on your device. The page can connect only to Brightgist itself and its optional settings-sync server, and neither ever receives the chat.
Which exports work?
The .txt file Android creates and the .zip file iPhone creates, in 12 or 24 hour time and day-first or month-first dates. Exports that include media work too; Brightgist only opens the text inside and ignores the photos.
How accurate is it?
Brightgist looks for patterns such as dates, times, amounts, questions with your name, and several people agreeing to a proposal. It catches the clear ones well, but it can miss unusual wording or misread a joke.
Every line links to the original messages, so you can check anything important in a tap.
Why do I pick my name?
WhatsApp exports don't say who exported them. Picking your name lets Brightgist find questions that mention you, and see whether you've already replied. It's remembered on this device only.
Does it cost anything?
No. There's no account, subscription or ads.
Is Brightgist made by WhatsApp?
No. Brightgist is an independent tool that reads WhatsApp's standard export files. It isn't affiliated with or endorsed by WhatsApp or Meta.
